Earth's Changing Surface

Hey guys,

I'm learning all about earthquakes, volcanoes, and tsunamis. It has been so fun learning about this.


  1. What causes an earthquake? It is caused by when the faults shift. A fault is the cracks in the earths crust.
  2. How do earthquakes change the surface of the earth? It causes the surface of the earth to form mountains and move the surface.  
  3. How are tsunamis related to earthquakes? They are related because tsunamis is basically an earthquake under water. The shaking makes a huge wave that could wipe out a village!

  1. What is a volcano? A volcano is a mountain that as gases and melted rock ( better known as magma) in it.  
  2. What determines the way a volcano erupts? It determines how the tectonic plates interact and how thick the magma is.  
  3. How do scientists classify volcanoes? They see the details of rather it is a volcano or isn't. For example, they know if it is a shield volcano by looking at top. They look at the top because if it is a sheild volcano theres magma coming out of the top.   
  4. How do volcanoes change the Earths surface? The lava can form new land when it dries. The rocks and ash can cover the land.

The Nervous System

Hey guys,

In science I am learning about the nervous system. I am trying to answer a few questions 

  1. How does the nervous system work with muscles? The brain sends messages threw the nervous system and tells the muscles to move and relax. 
  2. How does the brain receive information from outside the body? The brain messages from the eyes, ears, and nose. 
  3. How does the brain work with our involuntary muscles? The brain sends signals threw the organs to keep them working. 
  4. How is the nervous system work? The brain sends messages threw the nervous system and the muscles get the messages.

My Science Web Quest

Hey everybody,

I have been given the task to do a Web Quest.
     The soil sample is a mixture because it has different items in it. They can also be separated. Before I get started I want to tell you some important information. Matter comes in three different states. Those states are liquid, solid, and gas. Matter also has different properties. Those are color, shape, volume, and mass. The two properties that all states of matter have is volume and mass. Mass is the amount of matter in an object and volume is the amount of space something takes.

  1. I collected my soil sample.
  2. I weighed the entire soil sample on a scale.
  3. I separated the soil sample. I did that with my hands because they were all solids.
